Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel – Payette is a funeral home in Payette, Idaho, serving the Treasure Valley community. Services include burial services, cremation services, funeral and memorial services, pre-need planning, incense burning, memorial diamonds and human composting (offered through partner providers), and ash scattering assistance.

The location, in downtown Payette, has operated since 1915, when it was established as Shaffer Memory Chapel by Oscar Shaffer. Following Oscar Shaffer's death in 1976, the business passed to Gary Jensen and his son, Trey Jensen, and was renamed Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel.

The location includes a chapel and dedicated areas for identification and private viewings. Spanish-speaking staff are available to assist families.

Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel – Payette does not operate an on-site cemetery or crematory and does not provide pet cremation, licensed grief therapy, or legal or estate planning services. Reviews describe staff turning emotionally difficult moments into more manageable experiences, with families noting openness to questions throughout the process.

Cremation services are performed at company-owned facilities in the Boise metro area. Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel is part of a network of locations that includes its own cremation infrastructure — so families choosing cremation here work directly with our staff throughout, rather than being transferred to an independent third-party provider.  In the event that cremation equipment is unavailable, cremation will occur at another location.
