Affordable Mortuary

Affordable Mortuary is a funeral home in Chico, California, located in North Chico. The home provides burial services, cremation services, funeral and memorial services, pre-need planning, body donation coordination, and ash scattering assistance. Human composting is available through a partner provider. Affordable Mortuary coordinates directly with Chico Cemetery and Glen Oaks Memorial Park for interment and committal services.

Affordable Mortuary was established in 1993 in Chico under the name Sorensen's Affordable Mortuary. In 2005, the business relocated to its current address on Esplanade and adopted its present name.

The facility includes a chapel, identification viewing rooms, and private viewing accommodations. Spanish-language services are available on-site.

Affordable Mortuary does not operate an on-site cemetery or crematory. Pet cremation is not offered. Grief therapy, legal services, and estate planning are not provided.

Cremation services are performed at company-owned facilities in the Chico metro area. Affordable Mortuary is part of a network of locations that includes its own cremation infrastructure — so families choosing cremation here work directly with our staff throughout, rather than being transferred to an independent third-party provider.  In the event that cremation equipment is unavailable, cremation will occur at another location.
