Our Information

Affordable, Compassionate End-of-Life Care

The Omega Society is a cremation service in Orange, California. The location serves Orange County and surrounding communities, offering burial services, cremation services, pre-need planning, human composting through a partner provider, body donation coordination, and ash scattering assistance.

The Omega Society was founded in 2004 by Julie de Michaelis and her husband as a direct-to-consumer alternative to conventional funeral industry pricing and service structures. The business operated as a family-run practice, with second- and third-generation family members later introducing digital systems that replaced the original manual paperwork processes. Fully remote arrangements are available, allowing families to complete the arrangement process without an in-person visit.

The facility includes an on-site crematory, and accommodates identification viewings and private viewings. Human composting is available through a partner provider.

The Omega Society does not operate an on-site cemetery, chapel, service room, or reception space, and does not offer pet cremation services.

Families frequently recognize individual staff members by name in reviews and note that support continued beyond the cremation itself, including follow-up resources and outreach.
