The firm traces its roots to the former Clewiston Funeral Home, which Cecil Akin and Luther Davis purchased and renamed in the early 1980s. Cecil Akin later acquired full ownership in the early 2000s, and in 2009 management transitioned to his children, Daniel and Kimberly Akin, who operated the three-location family of funeral homes for over a decade. A third location in Fort Myers was added in 1998.

The facility includes a chapel and offers identification viewings and private viewings. Spanish-language services are available.

Akin Davis Funeral Homes - Clewiston does not operate an on-site cemetery or on-site crematory and does not offer pet cremation, licensed grief therapy, or legal or estate planning services.
