As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises.
Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility.
While the carriage may be an antique, we provide modern services like audio-visual media assistance and live streaming, and we personalize services to fit the needs of families of all backgrounds and religious denominations.
Our team includes professionals who love our area’s natural wonders and share a passion for helping Mountain Home area families through their time of need.

- Removal and transportation of your loved one to the funeral home (within a 30 mile radius of the funeral home).
- Care of your loved one until cremation is complete.
- Cremation process and return of ashes.
- Consultation with responsible party for final arrangements.
- All the necessary permits and authorizations.
- Free self-service online obituary.
- Many other optional services available - including celebration of life event planning, traditional funeral service, on-site catering, scattering assistance, and more - at additional charge.

Burial Services Starting At

- Price is for burial with no visitation or formal services and ceremonies. Does not include casket, outer burial container, or cemetery costs.
- Includes all of the essential services of the funeral director and staff;
- Removal of your loved one as well as transportation to the cemetery for burial (within a 30 mile radius of the funeral home).
- Care of your loved one until burial is complete.
- Consultation with responsible party for final arrangements.

I didn’t wants to be there for the loss of my sweetheart, love of my world Michael was full of p and v larger than life and as 1 nurse said “oh my your husband is so colorful, your world must be beautiful! It was! Rost Funeral Home in Mountain Home Seonalynn did every request that my husband had asked. So as I said she was there when we needed her and in the background to help us with all things, letting my dog come in so that he could see his best friend and say goodbye to putting his ashes in a Jack Daniel’s bottle . The follow up is out of this world they have sent me online video on what to do next!! SEONALYNN Thank you thank you for your patience and understanding you showed us your Grace it touched my heart.
