Kraft-Sussman was founded in 2009 by Wendy Kraft and Laura Sussman, who established the firm as an independent, LGBTQ+-friendly alternative to corporate funeral providers in Southern Nevada. The facility occupies space within a medical and professional office building plaza on South Durango Drive; the interior was designed to resemble a professional office environment — earthy and comfortable rather than formally somber — as a deliberate departure from the traditional mortuary aesthetic. In 2019, Kraft-Sussman became the first funeral home in Nevada and the 14th in the United States to offer aquamation (alkaline hydrolysis), a lower-emission alternative to traditional flame cremation.

The facility includes a chapel with movable seating rather than fixed pews, supporting flexible service configurations including arrangements in the round. Additional spaces include a reception area, private viewing rooms, and dedicated areas for identification viewings. Staff are knowledgeable in a range of cultural and religious traditions; a shomer can be arranged for Jewish families upon request.

Kraft-Sussman does not operate an on-site crematory or cemetery, and does not offer pet cremation services.
