Canby Funeral Chapel is a funeral home in Canby, Oregon, serving the surrounding Clackamas County communities. Services include burial, cremation, funeral and memorial services, pre-need planning, reception and catered events, and ash scattering assistance. Human composting and aquamation are available through partner providers.
The chapel's history in Canby begins with the 1925 construction of its current building at 160 S Grant Street, designed by Portland architect Louis Vogan (1875–1965) in the Bungalow style as a purpose-built mortuary. The property is listed in the Oregon Historic Sites Database as an inventoried historic property. Harvey Everhart — who had operated the Molalla funeral home since 1909 — established the Canby branch in 1934, extending the family's funeral service operation to a second location. Following Harvey's death, his son Elton Everhart and brother-in-law Jack Kent continued the business under the name Everhart & Kent Funeral Home. The location has operated under the name Canby Funeral Chapel since 1993.
The facility includes a chapel, with space for identification viewings and private viewings.
Canby Funeral Chapel does not operate an on-site cemetery or on-site crematory. Pet cremation, licensed grief counseling, and legal or estate planning services are not available.
