Providing Comfort to Springfield Since 1963
Springfield Memorial Gardens is a cemetery in Springfield, Oregon, located on the eastern edge of the Springfield city limits. Springfield Memorial Gardens is co-located with Springfield Memorial Funeral Home, a full-service funeral home operating on the same grounds. The cemetery serves Springfield, Lane County, and the surrounding region. Services include burial services, funeral and memorial services, pre-need cemetery property, veterans services including military honors, ash scattering assistance, and green embalming. Human composting and aquamation are available through partner providers.
Established in 1963, Springfield Memorial Gardens encompasses 35 acres, making it the largest cemetery in Lane County, Oregon. The property overlooks the Mohawk Valley. The cemetery layout was designed to separate themed burial sections using natural foliage. On May 30, 1967, a military veterans' monument was dedicated on the property through the joint efforts of Springfield American Legion Post 40 and Springfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3965. In 2024, the 1967 installation underwent a complete structural remodel and redesign, designated as the Court of Honor, which incorporates a hand-carved imported granite cremation niche wall with capacity for more than 100 veterans. A granite flagpole flying the American flag anchors the installation; families may purchase inscriptions on the flagpole to commemorate veterans regardless of where they are interred.
The property includes a mausoleum, cremation gardens and niches with statuary, family and private cemetery lots, build-to-suit cemetery property, and a dedicated veterans cemetery section. The grounds feature natural foliage buffers between themed burial sections.
Springfield Memorial Gardens does not operate an on-site crematory. Pet burial is not offered at this location.
