Thompson Funeral Homes has served the Columbia area since 1928, when J.R. "Buddy" Thompson founded the business in West Columbia. The current Columbia location on Leesburg Road was established in 2013 through the merger of Thompson Funeral Home with Greenlawn Memorial Park, consolidating funeral home and cemetery services at a single address. Second-generation ownership under John David Thompson began in 1972.
The facility includes a chapel, reception and event space, cemetery access on-site, identification viewings, and private viewings.
Thompson Funeral Homes - Columbia does not operate an on-site crematory. Licensed grief therapy and legal or estate planning services are not available through this location.
