It is part of Advent Funeral & Cremation, a family of funeral home locations serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The location provides burial services, cremation services, funeral and memorial services, pre-need planning, reception and catered events, kosher catering, veterans services including military honors, ash scattering assistance, certified celebrant services, and memorial diamonds through a partner provider.
Advent Funeral & Cremation was founded in 1993 by Melanie Wilhelm Dunaway, a third-generation funeral director who sold her home to fund the company's inaugural facility in Annapolis, Maryland. The founder chose the name Advent for its literal meaning: a new beginning. The Falls Church location opened in 1995 as the brand's first expansion into Virginia.
The facility includes a chapel and accommodations for identification viewings and private viewings. Spanish-speaking staff are available to assist families.
Advent Funeral & Cremation Services - Falls Church does not operate an on-site cemetery or on-site crematory. Pet cremation, licensed grief therapy, and legal or estate planning services are not offered.

- Care of your loved one until burial is complete. Family not present with timing at the discretion of the funeral home.
