Albert F. Strouse went peacefully into the hands of the Lord on Wed. Dec. 11, 2019 at his home in Warrensburg. He was born Nov. 2, 1926 in Gloversville and was a resident of Gloversville until a year ago. He was the son of the late J. Elmer and Gertrude (Nicke) Strouse. He was a 1943 graduate of Gloversville High School, after which he went to serve his country in the Army Air Corp as an airplane mechanic in WWII. He married the late Grace Ambrosino in 1947 and had a daughter Vicki. He was a retired telephone lineman an avid hunter, flew model airplanes and was a professional skeet shooter. Albert enjoyed watching NASCAR races. His favorite driver was Tony Stewart. He was a lifetime member of the Pine Tree Rifle Club, Concordia Singing Society and the NRA. Besides his daughter Vicki (Don) Meyers of Warrensburg, survivors include his 10 grandchildren; April Fischer of Warrensburg, Shawn and Don Fischer of Lake George, Donene Morehouse of Glens Falls, Adrienne (Willie) Silva of Euless TX, Christi (Jamie) Heitger of DeFuniak Springs FL, Erin (Paul) Levitsky of Chestertown, Katerina (Katie) Thompson of Mary Esther FL, Olivia Meyers-Dingmon of Lake George, Christopher Meyers of Bolton Landing along with 19 greatgrandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his late parents and wife Grace, he was predeceased by his brothers Daniel Strouse and Elmer Strouse, Jr. and his sister Elsie Joyce. The family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00PM to 2:00PM, Saturday December 14, 2019 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville where a Funeral Service will follow at 2:00PM with his granddaughter Olivia Meyers-Dingmon officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown next to his wife Grace. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the High Peaks Hospice 454 Glen St, Glens Falls, NY 12801, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105, the Ronald McDonald House 139 S Lake Ave, Albany, NY 12208, or the Disabled American Veterans Leo Obrien Bldg, Albany, NY 12207. Arrangements are entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
