Allison J. Curran
August 26th, 1978 - March 18th, 2019
Allison J. Curran Resident of Walnut Creek, CA August 26, 1978 March 18, 2019 On Monday, March 18, 2019, Allison ("Allie") Jean Curran passed away at the age of 40 after a nine month battle with metastatic brain cancer. Allie was born in Point Pleasant, NJ on August 26, 1978 to D. Patrick Curran and Dale Curran. She was a graduate of Midland Park High School and Davidson College. Following graduation, Allie lived and worked in Washington, D.C. and Austin, TX before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2016 to be close to her sister Kristin and her family. Allie leaves many in awe of the strength, bravery, and optimism she displayed over the last nine months and throughout her life. She never once complained and no matter what she was going through, you would hardly know it for she always had time for the people she loved. Allies greatest love was working with children, which she did with immeasurable skill, compassion - and patience. She had plans of continuing school and becoming a special education teacher, traveling to visit friends, and spending time with her family, in particular her two beloved nephews, Connor and Gavin. Family and friends will miss her sense of humor, her sharp intellect, creativity, and kind spirit. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Her positive energy and compassion for others made a lasting impact on many people. Allie is survived by her mother Dale, father Pat, sister Kristin, brother-in-law Rob, nephews Connor and Gavin, several aunts, uncles and cousins, and Pats companion Mary Lou. The family would like to thank the medical staff at John Muir Hospital, UCSF, and CPMC for taking great care of Allie. She also received comfort, resources and support from the Bay Area Cancer Support Community. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to honor Allies memory, the family requests donations be made in her name to the Bay Area Cancer Support Community. Visit: https://cancersupport.net/donate/. Memories and other thoughts of remembrance are also greatly appreciated via the tribute wall on this site.
