Beatrice M. Beyer
July 4th, 1922 - February 2nd, 2014
Mrs. Beatrice M. Beyer, of Thayer Road, Town of Florida, died peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was 91. A lifelong area resident, Beatrice was born on July 4, 1922 the daughter of the late Martin and Beatrice Brown Paro. She was a 1939 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Beatrice later attended Mildred Elley Business School. On September 14, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ernest L. Beyer. Together for 63 years they raised a family and together ran the Beyer Farm. Sadly, he died on January 9, 2003. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Jean Griffiths. Beatrice was a woman dedicated to her family, raising five children. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, sewing and crocheting. For 15 years she worked as a sales representative for Niagara Therapy Equipment achieving top sales for numerous years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include four children, Jane Edgar Rada of Amsterdam, Diane Beyer of Town of Florida, Doreen Glenn Marcucio of Hagaman and Douglas Beyer of Town of Florida; two brothers, Martin Paro of Florida and Gordon Carm Paro of Amsterdam; one sister, Audrey Reichel of Amsterdam; 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended members of the Brooks, Beyer & Paro Families. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 5p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. Dr. John Califano presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family following the service until 7p.m. Interment will take place on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 2p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Beyer's name to the Town of Florida Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 128, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
