Beatrice Ann Lipscomb passed away quietly on Saturday September 21, 2019. She was born July 14th, 1933 to Glenn Robert Chafee, Sr. and Myrtle Josephine (Johnson) Chafee in Cripple Creek, Colorado. Bea graduated from Colorado Springs High School, and was married in Raton, New Mexico on September 30th 1951 to George Hedges Lipscomb also of Colorado Springs. She was a member of the Glen Eyrie Chapter #8, Order of the Eastern Star, Colorado Springs Chapter Order of DeMolay Mother’s Club, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother for Pack #34. She enjoyed Genealogy, watching movies and football, creating memory books, Bible study and reading. Bea was a homemaker for many years and then began a career in the Defense industry with Civil Service positions at Fort Carson and then the United States Air Force Academy. Following that, she worked for numerous Defense Contractors in the Colorado Springs Area. After her husband sold his hardware store, Bea and George built a pork production business from scratch on a sandy plot in Ellicott, Colorado. Returning to Colorado Springs years later, Bea retired with George to a beautiful site overlooking Palmer Park. Bea was proceeded in death by her husband of 66 years George Hedges Lipscomb, brother Glenn Robert Chafee Jr., sister Margaret Glenita Chafee and is survived by her sons: Michael, Andrew, and Jerald; grandchildren: Chad, Ryanne, Kayla and Stephany: and great grandson Blake.
