Mrs. Betty Joyce Norris Cargo, age 77 a resident of Auburndale passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Cargo was born November 20, 1943 in Goshen, Alabama to Joseph Allen and Carrie Henrietta (Stokes) Norris. She was an Auburndale resident since the 1950’s coming from Alabama. She was one of nine children, attended Polk City Schools, Auburndale Schools and was a member of Life & Praise Church. Betty was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and maw maw. She enjoyed collecting pictures, books, movie videos, reading, gospel music, watching movies, Elvis, anything red and loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 40 years – Talmadge; son – Tony; 3 sisters – Jessie, Hazel & Maxine and 2 brothers – Joe & Billy. Betty is survived by her loving & devoted family, daughter – Jan Dickson and her husband John; 3 sisters – Delores Roberts, Janice Outlaw & Kathy Burns; 2 grandsons – Nicolas Cargo and Tyler Steen; 2 granddaughters – Courtney Steen and Melanie Gatlin and her husband Steven; 5 great grandchildren – Timothy, Thomas, Maci, Kayla & Kyle. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, April 3rd at Kersey Funeral Home.
