Beuna Rose Fish Becker was born on April 29, 1928 in Lakeside, Arizona to Mahonri Lazelle and Minnie Rose Adams Fish. She was a beautiful baby with bright blue eyes. She was number nine of ten children. She was raised in Lakeside and always had the fondest memories of her childhood and her family. Beuna Rose was very musically gifted. She started playing the piano when she was only 5 years old and at age 6 her piano teacher discovered she had "Perfect Pitch". Her parents knew this was a gift from God. Beuna Rose blessed many lives through the years by sharing her musical talents. She played for dances, weddings, funerals, and various church services. She attended school up through the 9th grade in Lakeside where she was the Salutatorian. She then moved to Mesa with her parents and attended Mesa Union High School. She was voted one of the 10 Outstanding Seniors, received her certificate for National Honor Society and received the Women's Sportsmanship Award. Her claim to fame in high school was being asked to play for Gene Autry to sing. After the performance Gene Autry told her she played so well she could be in the movies. After high school she attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. While at BYU she studied music and took piano lessons from Dr. Gerrit de Jong, Jr. who required her to practice 2-3 hours a day. Beuna Rose married Jesse Grant Hall on June 23, 1946. Their first baby, Beuna Rose Hall died during childbirth. They were blessed with Scarlett and Melanie. Beuna was thrilled to be a mother and thought her two little girls were so cute and talented. She was left a widow in 1959 when Grant was tragically killed. Beuna Rose married Robert Julius Becker on November 23, 1963. Bob had two children Terry and Floran whom she was blessed to love. Together Bob and Beuna were blessed with Louisa and Robert and she was thrilled to have more children. She now had a family of 6 children and loved being a mother. Beuna Rose was known for being vivacious and happy. She loved her family and friends. She was quick witted, funny and charming. She spent all of her life serving others through her musical talent. She always said "Let all my life be music". She loved traveling and seeing new places. She especially loved seeing the church historical sites. She loved serving as choir director and being able to share the gospel through music. Beuna's legacy is her children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to her and she loved all of her family very much. She always said "we stick together no matter what". Beuna Rose is preceded in death by her parents, 8 siblings, 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and her two daughters Beuna Rose and Scarlett. She is survived by her brother Boyce (Grace), her children Melanie Rhodes, Louisa LeSueur (Ben), Robert Becker (Rhonda), Terry Becker (Mare'), Floran Becker Ralls (Charlie), grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the matriarch of our family and the glue that kept us all together. Her presence will be greatly missed and we look forward to seeing her again. We love you Mom!
