Bobby Ray Smith, 67 of Inverness, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 25, 2018 in Gainesville, Florida. He had a wonderful life and enjoyed being a grandfather to Alli and Aden Ryan. Bobby was born on February 12, 1951 in Auburndale, Florida to the late John Smith and Ester Guy Smith. He is survived by his beloved wife Pattie Smith, his children Rachel Ryan, her husband Doug Ryan, Carrie Smith, her husband Jon Vredenberg, his grandchildren Alli Ryan and Aden Ryan, and his brother Marty Smith. Bobby was preceded in death by his brother Frankie Smith. Bobby attended the University of Tampa and later graduated from St Leo College in St Leo, Florida. Bobby played varsity football at the University of Tampa and also served as head football coach and Dean of Men at St Leo College. Bobby’s professional career has always been as an entrepreneur, starting with Wakulla Tire, based in Wakulla County Florida, which he owned and operated for 25 years. Over the span of his life, he owned several businesses with most recently having a career in the mortgage banking industry.
