Carol Dailey Fabbri, 54 years old, of Conifer Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on September 19, 2024 from undiagnosed coronary artery disease.

Carol grew up in Irvington New York, the daughter of Roy and Dori Dailey. She graduated from Irvington High School and went on to Connecticut College. She then attended the Sloan School of Management at MIT, where she graduated with an MBA. Woe to the person who said she got her MRS degree at MIT, but while at Sloan she met the love of her life, Luca Fabbri.

Carol and Luca married on June 13, 1998 at the Irvington Reservoir. Their reception was held overlooking the Hudson River, at the courtyard building where her parents lived when first married. Carol and Luca went on to live in England and California before settling in their dream house in the mountains of Colorado, with a view that goes on for miles, verdant evergreen hills with splashes of golden aspen, distant mountains and magnificent sunsets.

Carol and Luca welcomed their son Alex into their lives in December of 2006. No one could be prouder than Carol of the independent young man that he has grown to be. The friendship that Carol and Alex shared went beyond the usual parent-teenager angst, and was a true love of mutual respect and appreciation. They shared a passion for theater, musicals, baking, and color.

From her early days as a management consultant to becoming a certified financial planner to eventually building her own practice with industry recognition in Forbes and other media, Carol continuously strove to apply her business acumen with empathy and individual attention for those people and non-profits seeking her professional advice.

Carol could see beauty all over the world. Sunsets, sunrises, mountains, rough seas, calm waters, and flowers all brought her joy, which she loved to share with others. Her travels always resulted in colorful memories being shared with others and creative decorating for her house and wonderful gifts to family and friends.

Carol's home was filled with light, as well as pictures of family and friends, cookbooks, plants and lots of other books. A beautiful Dakota Star quilt hung on the wall over her bed. Decorations range from Gamu’s classic art to silly folksy crafting - a space filled with happiness and love for her boys and her dog Pepper.

Carol loved family, the beach, Cape Cod, big floppy hats, sailing, traveling, dogs, ice cream and flowers. Did you know it was ok to eat ice cream three times a day? It is, if you’re with Auntie C! Some of the family’s best memories of Carol are heading out on jeep beach, throwing the ball for the dog, enjoying a fire and watching the seals slip by in the waves. She never saw a shark, but secretly always wanted to.

With Carol the magic of Christmas didn’t dull with time, and she was our special Christmas Elf, responsible for the distribution of presents and the exploration into our stockings. She would also make sure the special ornaments from Gamu, and the dolls from Tante Mitzi, were taken from their summer hiding places, and brought to the forefront, to assure the traditions of Christmas continued.

Carol’s laughter filled the room and she brought light into our lives simply by her presence. Carol is survived by her husband Luca Fabbri and son Alessandro (Alex) Fabbri of Conifer, her mother Dori Dailey and sister Barbara Dailey of Irvington NY, and her brother Michael Dailey, and his wife Robin and nephews Patrick and James, of Delmar NY, as well as wonderful relatives and friends all over the world.

The family wants everyone to remember that women’s heart attacks often present differently than men’s, and female heart attack symptoms are not always taken seriously or believed. Stomach problems, nausea, indigestion, strange new chest or arm pains, or just feeling newly weak and dizzy can all be signs of a heart attack. Please do not ignore new symptoms. Take care of yourself, take care of your partners, and most importantly, HUG YOUR LOVED ONES RIGHT NOW AND TELL THEM YOU LOVE THEM.

There will be no services, but there will be a celebration of life when the family is ready.
