Carol Grant
September 14th, 1936 - April 17th, 2017
CAROL LYNN GRANT Carol Lynn Grant passed away quietly in her Chico home surrounded by family on April 17, 2017. Born September 14, 1936, the first child of Donald and Lois Burbank, Carol graduated in 1954 from high school in Charlo, Montana then went to Montana State College in Bozeman where, upon graduating, she served 4 1/2 years as a nurse in the U.S. Navy. In 1963, while serving as a LT stationed at Naval Hospital Lemoore, she met and married Navy pilot LT Freeman Augustus (Gus) Grant. After her release from the military Carol continued nursing as a civilian, enjoyed being a Patron of the San Diego Zoo, and was active in the San Diego City Council. Carol and Gus moved to Chico in 2002 where they made many wonderful friends through the Chico Newcomers club. After Gus passed in 2007, Carol continued to enjoy the friends they had made. Playing scrabble, bunco, and pinochle, along with coffees and luncheons, garden club, and many other events, her calendar was always full...and she loved it all! Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Lester Burbank, and her husband Gus. She is survived by her two sisters, Beth LiedL and Geriann (Jim) Wilson; son, Robert (Leslie) Grant; daughter, Meraliann (Todd) Price; four grandchildren, Ian Grant, Brandi Grant, Jake (Jessie) Price, and Matt Price; four nieces, three nephews, one grand-nephew and 3 grand-nieces. Carol and her special birthday calls will be greatly missed.
