Charles Foley 1934 - 2016 On October 16, 2016 Charles “Bud” Foley peacefully passed away in his sleep at his daughter’s home in Eugene, Oregon. Born and raised in San Francisco, California. Bud Foley attended Sacred Heart Preparatory and the City College of San Francisco. He joined the Marine Corps where he was a Corporal in the first marine division during the Korean conflict. Upon discharge from the Marine Corps he was honorably discharged with Decorations of Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Medal, Korean Service Medal and the National Defense Medal. Beginning in 1958 and continuing for 31 years Bud worked for Levi Strauss as a men’s jeans sales representative. His job took him for San Francisco, California to Idaho, where he met the love of his life Mim and her two children Mike and Irene. After the birth of their first child Charles K. Foley he was transferred to San Diego, California where he remained until his retirement. The family grew to include John “Jack” Foley. Upon Bud’s retirement fulfilling a promise he made to his wife Mim 20 years earlier they retired to her beloved Northwest. Moving to Port Angeles, Washington both became very involved in the community. Their friends both old and new meant the world to them and filled their home with laughter and good times. His loss will be felt throughout the Port Angeles community and the many places where friends and family live. Bud was a true gentleman. Bud will be remembered for how he stayed connected with people throughout his life, remaining close to friends he had in grade school as well as scheduling men’s lunches, calling and writing letters to friends he was concerned about and loved. Bud loved the outdoors and was proud of his Irish heritage so much so he made two trips to Ireland the most recent with his son Charley. He was kind and considerate with a positive attitude to the end thanking those who cared for him even on his last day he stated, “I am a happy guy, this is a good life.” Bud was preceded in death by his son Jack and wife Mim and is survived by son Charley Foley of Tucson, Arizona, daughter Irene Alltucker (Kevin) of Eugene, Oregon son Mike Deptuch (Pat) and his four grandchildren whom brought him great joy and he loved dearly. Services to be held 11:00 am on March 24, 2017 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church Port Angeles, Washington. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center for Art in Bloom 1203 East Lauridsen Blvd. Port Angeles, Wa 98362. Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
