Charles "Chuck" Eri Havens, age 87, of Jackson, CA, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Jackson. Chuck was born in Alexandria, MN one of nine children on February 24, 1929, a son of the late Cleora Lois (Satterlee) and Harry James Havens. Chuck joined the US Navy working as a boiler tender for 4 years during the Korean Conflict,. He was stationed in Japan for the majority of his service time. In 1954 Chuck met the love of his life Priscilla Mello at Mayfair Packing Company in San Jose where they both worked. They would marry on Sept. 1, 1956 in Manteca, excited to begin their life together they would forego their honeymoon and buy a house instead. In 1993 they moved to Jackson, CA into the home they had built as a family with their five children. He worked at an electrical engineer for many years retiring from Apple Computer in 1993. He is survived by his children, Mark Havens-Bequette, husband of Robert Bequette, of Fair Oaks, CA; Margaret Lyon, wife of Collin, of San Jose; Marian Pestana, of Garnerville, NV; Martin Havens and fiancé, Lorraine Shenefield, of Fresno, CA; Matthew Havens and girlfriend, Rebecca Albin, of Jackson, CA; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded by his beloved wife of 56 years, Priscilla in 2013. Chuck was also preceded by his eight siblings. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, June 3, 2016, 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Daneri Mortuary Chapel in Jackson. At the family's request there will be a private graveside service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Victory Village, 12408 Kennedy Flat Rd. Jackson, CA 95642.
