Charles Roy Hollis
June 11th, 1912 - October 5th, 2009
97, of St. Petersburg, died Monday, October 5, 2009, at St. Anthony's Hospital. He was born in 1912 in St. Petersburg, FL. He graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College, where he enjoyed playing volleyball, softball, and basketball. He was a Chief Radio Operator for the Admiral in charge of submarine warfare for the United States Navy during WWII in Key West. After the war, he worked for Ed Wright as his right hand man. In 1948 he started working with Dean Witter Reynolds and had an illustrious career for 50 years. He loved fishing and traveling throughout Central America. He was preceded in death by his brother John J. Hollis and his parents, Charles and Grace Hollis. He is survived by his loving family and many friends. There will be a memorial service from 11am to 12pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the 2201 9th Street North location, with military honors.
