Dr. Charles Nash McKinney, 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 29th, 2019 at the Colorado State Veterans Home at Fitzsimons. He was born to Omar and Ada McKinney on October 24th, 1930 in Delight, Arkansas. Charles was a 2nd Lieutenant and Pilot at William’s Air Force Base and Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, from 1951 to 1953. He earned a Masters in Chemistry at Oklahoma University in Norman, Oklahoma, and a Ph.D. in Spectroscopy at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. His pastimes included birdwatching, photography, and tinkering with computers. Charles is survived by his son, Brock McKinney, daughter-in-law, Wendi McKinney, daughter, Sara Block, son-in-law, Paul Block; grandchildren, Ada McKinney and Emma Block; nieces, nephews, and families, Nelson and Gail McKinney, Carol and Alan Smith, Hank and Mandee McKinney, Kathe Gumm; first wife, Margaret Findley; cousins, relatives, and friends.
