Charles Royd Shumway Born in 1932 in Woodruff Arizona, to Charles P. Shumway and Belle Brinkerhoff Shumway. Royd was the 5th of 18 children 10 girls and 8 boys. Royd is survived by two sisters and six brothers; his Seven Sons, Craig, Mike, Terrel, Daren, Marc, Rick, Danny and his wife Colleen Simmons-Shumway, some Awesome Daughters in Law and 22 Grand Children and one great grandchild. We want to thank all the many people who have given of their love, support, prayers, and condolences for the passing of our beloved Father, Charles Royd Shumway. He lived an awesome life and many of you knew him as Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, Cousin, Brother-in-law, Coach, Mentor, Friend, Team Mate, or Royd. We just hope you knew of his compassion, charity, and desire to "do good continually" mosiah 5:2 He was Awesome! He lived his life like he ran his races and played basketball; always wanting to win and playing hard to the finish. He truly fought a good fight, finished his course and kept the Faith! 2Tim 4:7 After a tough surgery in December, He finally made it back to his home that he loved; being at home with his family for the last few months. He passed away Friday May 16, 2014 around 7:00pm. His greatest joys in life were his Family whom he loved so much. He is now with his sweetheart and eternal companion Carmen, our Mom who passed six years ago. He loved his Savior Jesus Christ and Served in many Church Callings through out his life especially working at the Mesa Temple. His other great loves were; sports, running, basketball, gardening, giving, reading, teaching, learning, fresh fruit from the trees and garden, popcorn, chocolate, and many other things! Services will be Friday May 23, 2014 at The Lehi Church Building, 810 E. Lehi Rd., Mesa, AZ 85203. Services will begin at 10:00am. Interment to follow at City of Mesa Cemetery. Thanks. We love you!
