Charlotte ""Charli"" Rathgeber Humphreys, 73, passed away unexpectedly of pneumonia on January 25, 2017 in Venice, FL, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Carl and Martha (Vollmer) Rathgeber on November 11, 1943, in Kearny, NJ. She graduated high school in Bloomfield, NJ and went on to get her bachelor's degree from Douglass College at Rutgers University in NJ. Charli led a full and wonderful life, living mostly in NJ and eventually spending winters in Venice, FL and summers in Lakewood, NJ. She was passionate about her family and friends, and helped many people throughout her life. She held multiple positions with her most cherished work as a Director at Micro Training where she improved the lives of many people. She enjoyed decorating her home, gardening, painting and writing. She loved spending time near the water and chose to live close to lakes and beaches. She was known as a strong and honest person who went out of her way to do the right thing. Charlotte is survived by her daughter Alicia (Phil) Levesque and son Christopher (Michele Crohin) Humphreys; grandchildren Caroline Humphreys, Alexander Humphreys and Erin Levesque; fiancé Roger Sakowski; sister Eleanor Haese; three nieces and a nephew. Also survived by her former husband Alfred Charles (Chuck) Humphreys. She was predeceased by her sister Loretta (Rathgeber) Bishop. Services will be held Saturday, January 28 at Farley Funeral Home in Venice, FL from 10 AM - 12 noon. Donations in her name to the American Lung Association or the charity of your choice would be an honor in her memory.
