Cheryl Jo Lorenz, born August 1, 1940 in Seattle WA, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 in Lakewood, WA. Cheryl was loved dearly by friends and family during her 81 years celebrating life. Cheryl loved gardening, cooking, genealogy, was an avid reader, Husky and Seahawk fan. She was a lifelong camping enthusiast, starting with family outings as a little girl, her dad using pack animals to get back country and live off the land. She loved all animals (except snakes!) especially cats and dogs, having many of her own that became part of the family. She was always ready to help a pet in need, and lost dogs seemed to find her, so she could help them find their owner, which she did many times. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, and decorating the house for trick or treaters was something of a tradition for the whole neighborhood. Cheryl Married Karl Lorenz April 7, 1961 and they raised two children, Matt and Mitch, in Kirkland Washington. She loved her family past and present and researched her family tree extensively. She was proud of her pioneer heritage; her great grandfather having come from Missouri to the Willamette Valley on the Oregon trail in 1865. Her mother’s family were Germans that migrated from Russia to Odessa, Washington in 1898. She was predeceased by her younger brother Greg, and her infant son Michael. She is survived by sons Matt and Mitch, and their father Karl Lorenz, daughter in law Robin, sisters Pam and Linda, and her beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Hannah and Kyle.
