Christian Arnold Martin

Christian Arnold Martin, 20, of Amsterdam passed away suddenly at his home on Monday morning, August 27, 2012. Born in Albany on March 14, 1992, he is the son of Robert A. and Betsy Morley Martin. Christian was a life time resident of the area and a 2010 graduate from Amsterdam High School. He then attended Paul Smith's College where he studied Marine Biology, preparing for a career on the ocean. He was a member of St. Ann's Episcopal Church where he served as an Acolyte for several years. Christian was an avid outdoorsman, frequenting the Adirondack's. He was passionate about the environment, the wildlife and their preservation. His loving family includes his parents, Robert and Betsy Martin of Amsterdam, brothers Andrew and Anthony Martin of Brooklyn, NY, his niece Brooke Martin; Uncles, Richard Martin, Michael Linda Martin, Richard Debbie Morley, Aunts, AnnetteDavid Makacynas and Pam Ritter. Several cousins also survive. The Office for the Burial of the Dead will be read and Holy Eucharist will be celebrated by The Rev. Neal P. Longe on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Amsterdam. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 4pm until 7pm at the Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam NY 12010. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery in Amsterdam. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Montgomery County SPCA or to St. Ann's Episcopal Church.
