Christopher David Frye, age 42, formerly of Gloversville, now residing in Portlandville, passed away June 25, 2019 from his courageous battle with cancer at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown. He was born April 17, 1977 in Gloversville, the son of Merrill Frye, Sr. and Dona Groves. He was employed as a Winder by AGT Services of Amsterdam. He loved to take rides on his Harley-Davidson and metal detecting, was an avid outdoorsman and golfer among other hobbies. Chris was a NY Yankees, NY Giants, and NASCAR fan, especially of Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed working alongside his brother Merrill, doing lighting work for local bands. Christopher is survived by his wife Angela Hillman Frye, their two children Damin and Mackenzie Frye, his mother Dona Groves, his two brothers Jeffery Madden and Merrill Frye, Jr., a godson Aaronn DiMarco, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends He was predeceased by his father Merrill Frye, Sr. along with his in-laws William and Roswitha Hillman. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00AM to 12:00PM, June 29, 2019 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville where a Funeral Service will follow at 12:00PM with the R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place immediately following at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, 297 River St Service Rd Suite #1, Oneonta, NY 13820. Arrangements are entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home.
