Clifford Lee Barrett

Clifford Lee Barrett, 84, of Rockledge, Florida and formerly of Merritt Island, passed away peacefully at Holmes Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Phyllis, and their children: Carrie Griffin, and her husband, Mike, West Palm Beach, FL, Lesley Barrett Hartselle, Viera, FL, and son-in-law, Pat Hartselle, Rockledge, FL., sister Juanita West, Bruno, West Virginia. He was the loving grandfather of: Timothy Griffin (Jill), Matthew Griffin, Hannah Loeffler (Thom), Daniel Griffin (Sarah), Luke Griffin, Stephen Hartselle and Amber Hartselle, along with one great-grandchild, James Griffin, and many nieces & nephews which he loved. He was predeceased in death by his son, Philip Barrett, Canaveral Groves, FL. Clifford was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was the owner of Barrett Office Machines in Merritt Island, FL. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Merritt Island. He was also a well respected businessman and a friend to many in his community. He was proud of his family and his West Virginia heritage, where he was born. He was adored by his wife, his children, and grandchildren. He had a deep faith in God and lived a life that is an example to his family and friends. As we remember Clifford’s life and character, it is a challenge for us as his family to now live by his example of loving deeply, giving freely, and serving selflessly. His passing leaves a gaping hole in our hearts. A private service will be held at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Viera, FL on April 17, 2020 according to current public health regulations. He will be placed to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with a formal graveside ceremony with military honors to follow at a later date.
