Cody Jason Smaling, 38 passed away on January 11, 2024. He is survived by his wife Jaqueline. His children Jayson, Alize, and Layla. His parents Michael and Tammy Smaling and Marianne Gutstein. His mother-in-law Elaine Armijo. His sister Brandi (Jered Lucero), nieces Lilly and Gia, nephews Aiden and Joey. His godson Joseph and numerous family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Clint Wilson, his Grandma Alice Armijo, Grandpa and grandma Cyril and Patricia Smaling, Grandma Margaret Kramer, and Grandpa Ronald Wilson. He is also preceded in death by two special men who were father figures in his life Michael Gutstein and Juan Ortega. Cody had passion and love for fishing, flowers, his Las Vegas Raiders but most importantly his family. He was very successful in the Colorado fishing world with his brand Fishing Downtown Denver. Please join our family January 29th, 2024 at Romero’s Funeral Home and Cremation 4750 Tejon Street Denver, Co. 80211 Rosary will be at 1pm. Memorial service and final viewing to follow. We will be having a reception from 3:30 pm to 7 pm. Reception will be held at The Spot 2.0 4707 Lipan Street Denver, Co. 80211
