ST. PETERSBURG, FL- Daniel L. Huber, 69, died unexpectedly at his residence December 16, 2021 of natural causes. Born November 23, 1952 in Meadville, PA, he was the son of the late Roy (Whitey) and Mildred V. (Maloney) Huber. Dan grew up on the family farm, known as Mil-Roy Dairy on Route 27 near Meadville. He attended Wayland School and was a graduate of Randolph-East Mead High School, Class of 1970, Guys Mills. He was a 1973 graduate of Clarion State College. During his youth he was active in Blooming Valley 4-H, showing quality Holstein cattle at Crawford County Fair, district and qualifying for the PA State Farm Show. Following his years at Clarion he became assistant manager of the Red Barn Restaurant in Meadville, eventually opening his own restaurant, Dan’s Korner Kitchen in Sheakleyville. He moved to FL in the 1997, initially Bradenton and later in St. Petersburg where he worked as assistant manager for Taco Bell and later Publix. Dan was a member of St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church in his youth. He was a Past Master Sandy Lake Lodge #434 F&AM and was Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 23rd Masonic District (1990-1994). He enjoyed history at all levels and enthusiastically studied ancestry and claimed to be related to half of Crawford County. He traveled extensively with his parents during their senior years, contributing much to their well-being and was a loyal friend. Surviving family members include two sisters, Linda (Joe) Kerr of Meadville and Patricia (Larry) Stevens of Erie, one brother, Robert (Kathy) Huber of Durango, CO; an aunt, Wilma Campbell of Meadville, several nieces, nephews and cousins and a pal since grade one, Clyde (Marie) Walton of Meadville. In addition to his grandparents and parents he was predeceased by a sister, Sharon K. Huber and many aunts and uncles. Interment will take place on the Huber Family lot at St. Hippolyte Cemetery, Frenchtown at a later date.
