David Ray Coleman, 83, of Cayce, SC, passed away in his home, Saturday, February 12, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. A service for Mr. Coleman will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 4720 Augusta Rd. Lexington, SC. The family will greet friends starting 1 hour prior at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at Olympia Cemetery. David was born on December 2, 1938 in Bath, SC to the late Warren F. and Carrie P. Coleman. He was in the US Air Force from January of 1958 until October of 1962. On November 9, 1964, he got to marry the love of his life, Rita J. Flowers. Together they had two daughters, Peggy and Barbara. Over the years, he had worked at several trucking companies before retiring from Yellow Freight Lines in September of 1998. He was a member of the Baptist faith. David is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rita J. Coleman; daughters, Peggy (Lloyd) Hartley, and Barbara (Barney Colvin) Driggers; grandchildren, Christopher Hartley, and Danny Driggers; and great granddaughter, Madison Hartley. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be Joe Fields and Dwayne Mosteller. Pallbearers will be Harry Rogers, Barbara Driggers, Danny Driggers, Barney Colvin, and Lloyd Hartley.
