Dean Lyle Millis
April 23rd, 1924 - March 18th, 2019
DEAN L. MILLIS, passed away on March 18, 2019 at Agrace Hospice Center in Janesville, WI. He was born on April 23, 1924 in Whitewater, WI to Mathew and Frieda (Schultz) Millis. Dean served in the United States Army from May 11, 1943 – September 19, 1945. He married Genevieve Reuhl on November 1, 1953. She proceeded him in death on September 4, 2009. Dean was employed at Lindberg Industries of Watertown, where he worked as a layout designer until his retirement in 1989. Dean enjoyed hobby farming, “tinkering”, repairing, and fixing his equipment and machinery. He and Genevieve liked traveling, overseas, to see historic sites and experience the different cultures. Dean was always ready to go to lunch or supper to find good food and generous portions. Dean is survived by his sisters Elaine Landis of Rock Falls, IL, Dolores Boynton of Whitewater, and Maxine Striegl of Milton. Many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Genevieve, his brother Donald Millis, and brothers-in law Alvin Landis and Leslie Striegl. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. On March 26, 2019, at the Schneider-Michaelis funeral home in Jefferson with the Rev. Mark O. Bartsch officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make a donation to Edgerton Health Care Center of Edgerton, WI. The family would like to thank The Edgerton Health Care Center and their dedicated staff for Dean's care the last couple of years. Their willingness to “personalize his care” was amazing. A special thanks to Dr. Abdul Mohammed and his staff, at The Edgerton Hospital, for their kindness and compassion during the last couple of days of Dean's life. Dr. Muhammed took the time to explain things and help guide us through this emotional time. The whole staff was wonderful and we are so grateful Dean was in their care. We also would like to thank Agrace Hospice for their help. We are so lucky to have people that have such compassion and dedication to making people comfortable in the last days or hours of their lives.
