Dennis Riggs

Dennis Riggs, age 66, of Venice, FL passed away on October 19, 2022. He was born in Cincinnati, OH to Fred J. and Margaret L. Riggs (nee Jones). Dennis proudly served as a quartermaster in the US Navy from 1974-1978. After his enlistment he took over operation of the family business, Riggs Bus Company, until his retirement. He moved to Venice permanently several years ago, but regularly visited his friends and family in Cincinnati. Dennis loved spoiling his three grandchildren, reading, puzzles, gambling, boating, a good afternoon nap, and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. To friends and family he will always be remembered for his fun-loving and generous spirit. Surviving family members include children Dennis James Riggs Jr. (Lauren), Marcella Riggs, and Benjamin Riggs; sisters Peggy A. Hall, Deborah K. Maher (Dennis), Rebecca M. Campbell (Jeff); grandchildren Brady Bauer-Nilsen, Vivien Lee Riggs, and Dennis James Riggs III; and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Margaret. No services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
