Diana R. Heffley-Melody
September 1st, 1978 - July 27th, 2018
Diana “Dino” Ruth Heffley Melody Diana Ruth Heffley Melody, known affectionally by her family as Dino, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 27, 2018. Diana was born on September 1, 1978 in San Antonio, Texas. She is daughter of Jim and Stella (Smith) Heffley. She spent her early years in the Tri-Cities area before moving with her family to Ontario, OR. Diana graduated from Ontario High School in 1997. Diana is the epitome of strength and anyone who knows her would agree, they don’t get any stronger. As a teenager Diana was diagnosed with Lupus. The disease wreaked havoc on her body and eventually lead to her being diagnosed with End Stage Renal disease. Through many years of renal dialysis, numerous health issues, and the stillborn birth of her daughter Miranda, Diana received a second chance at life and underwent a kidney transplant in January 2014. Diana had many hobbies and she always jumped at the chance to get ‘crafty’ and make a personalized gift for a special occasion. At Christmas time you could always count on getting a box of homemade cookies! She had a weakness for purses, perfume, lip gloss, Elvis, and Superman. She loved her family more than anything and would spoil her nieces and nephew Kymburly Krautheim, Marie Wiley and Jimmy Heffley any chance she got. In March of 2007 Diana met the love of her life, Paul Melody on a blind date. Through their 11 years together they brought each other happiness and love. They built their home together which includes their 2 spoiled dogs, Bailey and Littlefoot. Diana is survived by the love of her life, Paul Melody of New Plymouth ID; her parents Jim and Stella Heffley of Scappoose, OR; sister Terri Barber of New Plymouth, ID; brother Marvin (Michelle) of Spokane, WA; sister Julane (Matt) Wiley of Scappoose, OR and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her stillborn daughter Miranda, her grandparents Bill and Loretta Smith and Hezekiah and Louise Bowman. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 11th at 11am at Sunrise Christian Church, 968 SW 30th Ave, Ontario, OR 97914. . Arrangements and Cremation by Lienkaemper Chapel, Ontario.
