Dianne Cheryl Franks, 65, of North Port, FL passed away peacefully Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Venice Regional Medical Center in Venice, Florida. She was born on September 20, 1948 in Johnstown, PA to Donald and Shirley Dixon. Dianne graduated from Falls Church High School in Virginia in 1966. She was employed with Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia for 15 years. She worked as a budget analyst for BDM Corp for over 10 years and worked on the Star Wars and Stealth Bomber Program as an analyst. Dianne married her husband, Al Franks on May 2, 1981. They lived in Centreville, VA and Dianne retired in September 2008 after 15 years with the CIA as a logistics officer and real estate agent. Dianne served the last two years as Treasurer of Villas at Charleston Park Homeowner's Association in North Port, FL. Dianne is survived by her devoted husband, Al Franks, mother, Shirley Dixon of Port Charlotte, FL, 2 brothers, Lyle (Karen) of Sharpsburg, MD and Ron of Fredericksburg, VA; 5 nephews and 1 niece and 1 grand nephew and 4 grand nieces as well as numerous family members and dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel on December 19, 2013 at 11 AM. A reception will be held following the ceremony at the Villas at Charleston Park clubhouse. Memorial Donations may be made to All Children’s Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 3142, St. Petersburg, FL 33731-3142.
