Mr. Dionis Dennis Rivas, age 18 a resident of Polk City passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 due to an automobile accident. Mr. Rivas was born March 12, 2002 in Brooklyn, New York to Demetrio and Anilka Noemi (De La Cruz) Rivas. He was a Polk County resident, graduated from Haines City High School and was of the Jehovah Witness faith. Dionis enjoyed playing video games, basketball and spending with family & friends. Dionis is survived by his loving family; mother & stepfather – Anilka & Antonio Encarnacion; father & stepmother – Dionis & Wendy Lora Rivas; son – Jaxon Thomas; maternal grandmother – Silvana & Fernando Medina; maternal grandfather – Victor De La Cruz; paternal grandparents – Dionisio & Candida Rivas; 3 brothers – Justin, Jensy & Junior; 3 sisters – Dianis Melody, Leslie & Leilanis and 4 aunts – Amada, Amelvis, Carmen & Auris. A funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, November 20th at Kersey Funeral Home, 108 Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale with a visitation beginning at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 capacity for the service is limited to 75 attendees. Face masks are recommended.
