Donald (Don) Louis Hawn, 85 of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Sunday August 24, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born in Scott County, Tennessee to the late Floyd and Laura Henry Hawn. Don was the veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Burroughs Corporation and went on to retire also from First TN Bank in 1993 as a Vice President / Data Processing Mgr. He was a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church. Don enjoyed all of his family gatherings but he especially loved gathering with his family every Saturday morning. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, of 40 years, Charlotte Leach Hawn; several sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; a niece and two nephews. Survivors include his daughter, Rhonda McGhee; three sons, Mike Hawn, Mark Hawn & wife, Crystal and Brian Hawn; grandchildren, Joshua Coakley & wife Holly Hopson, Matthew Hawn, Jeremy Coakley, Laura Hawn, Derek McGhee & wife Katie, Jordan Hawn and Leanne Hawn; great-grandchildren, Lily & Landon McGhee, and Jackson Coakley; siblings, Ethel Frech, Conald Hawn, Dee Miller; brothers-in-law / sisters-in-law, Bill Leach & wife Becky, Jim Leach, Frank Leach & wife Barbara, Pauline Gibson & husband Otis, Paul Leach, Joy Blair, JoAnna Leftwich & husband Rick, Flo Leach, Bruce Leach & wife Patsy, Ethel Hendrick, Richard Leach & wife Julie; special friends, Pat & Spunky Boggs; along with several niece and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Bloomingdale Baptist Church, 3220 Bloomindale Road, Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence. Funeral services will be at 7 pm in the church with Pastor Phil Whittemore, officiating. Eulogy will be provided by Leanne Hawn. Music will be provided by Mark Hawn and Anna Taylor. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:20 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the family of Donald L. Hawn.
