On Wednesday, July 24th, 2019, Dorothy Sue Pieterse passed away at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC at the age of 57. Dorothy was born on June 23rd, 1962 in Worthington, Ohio to John and Joan Pieterse. Early in her life, she and her family moved to Georgetown, South Carolina. Dorothy attended Clemson University and raised a son, Jackson Colby Dudley. She went on to be an accomplished sales and customer service representative who had a passion for helping her clients and her co-workers. Dorothy loved Patsy Cline and George Strait; she collected souvenir frogs and loved every animal she ever came across. She was an outstanding mother, sister, aunt and friend who always offered love and advice to those she was close with. Dorothy was a Roman Catholic with a profound respect of the Lord. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, John Pieterse; her mother, Joan Fluitsma Pieterse; her nephew, Robert Aaron Pieterse. She is survived by her fiancé, Michael Pittman and his son, Michael Jr.; her son; Jackson Colby Dudley and his wife Elizabeth Dudley; and their son Peyton Dudley; her brother; Rudolf Pieterse; her brother, Winfred Pieterse and his wife, Jean Pieterse; her brother, Robert Pieterse and his wife Dianne Pieterse; her brother, Frankie Pieterse and his wife Kristi Pieterse; her sister, Judy Pieterse Weaver and her husband Matthew Weaver; and her uncle, Ben Fluitsma. A memorial liturgy will be held for Dorothy at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 10th, 2019 at Saint Mary's Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church, 317 Broad Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
