Haines City, FL – Mrs. Edith E. McMullen, retired, School District Employee, 89, of Haines City, FL passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at AdventHealth Heart of Florida from ongoing health conditions. She was born February 8, 1932 in Clayton, NC. She will be inurned with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. Mrs. McMullen retired in 1993, from the Westmont Hilltop School District, where she worked as a secretary. For several years she volunteered at the local House Blest and as a gift shop attendant at AdventHealth Heart of Florida. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Davenport. She is survived by a son, Harry A. McMullen Jr. of Bedford, PA; a grandson, Reed McMullen of Boulder, CO and a sister, Ann Ellis of Durham, NC. She was preceded in death by a loving husband, of 58 years, Col. Harry A. McMullen; a son, Dean A. McMullen; her parents and one sister. As per her request, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Horizon Church, 400 Orchid Drive Haines City, FL 33844.
