Emily was born in Everett, Washington on November 26, 1943 to parents Grafton and Verna Smith. Raised in Marysville, she graduated from Marysville High School in 1962. Emily continuously sought personal growth and ultimately retired a 29 year career with the Boeing Company as a Quality Assurance Senior Manager. First and foremost, she loved her family and friends and enjoyed her home and yard in Washington, winters in Arizona, road trips, entertaining, golf and occasionally adventures abroad. Emily was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on May 4, 2009. She bravely faced the disease and its treatment, never complaining or feeling sorry for herself. Her focus remained on family, faith and friends. Following three weeks in the hospital Emily passed away on April 19, 2010 in the arms of her loving husband. Emily is survived by her husband Harold; son Gerry Croy and wife Michelle along with their daughter Kayla; son Harold IV “Gunner” Croy and wife AnnMarie along with their children Mackenzie, Madison, and Harold V “Harry”; son Blake Croy and wife Tiffiny along with their children Toby, Malea and Brody; daughter Julianne and husband Geno Sison along with their children Taylor, Kaylee, Haley, McKenna, Marissa, Tyler and Jared; and extended granddaughter Sara Edge. Emily is also survived by her loving sisters Nancy Rose, Dale Pastrana and Lynn Mock and her husband Jim; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Vincent Pocozzi and his team (Oncology); Doctors Mark Sullivan and Jacob Merrell, Nurse Practitioner Molly Bumpus; and the RNs and Patient Care Technicians of the Intermediate Care Unit of Virginia Mason for their kindness and care during her stay.
