Ernesto “Neto” S. Verdugo, 66, of Guadalupe, Arizona, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2019. Ernesto was born to Dolores and Julia Verdugo on October 6, 1952. He worked for the Tempe Elementary School District, specifically Frank Elementary School for 28 years. He was a proud retired veteran who served in the United States Army for many years. He was a lover of life, family, music and western movies. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and mentor. He touched many lives and undeniably has left a void in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Dolores Sr. and Julia Verdugo; brothers, Dolores Verdugo Jr., Roberto Verdugo, Jose Maria Verdugo; sisters, Consuelo Verdugo and Mary Lou Colorez. Ernesto is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of 48 years; brothers, Arnold, Raul, and David; sisters, Rosa, Esther, Socorro; children, Delia, Ernesto Jr. (Grace), Michael (Estella), Albert (Juanita) and Chris (Jessica); grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Danielle, Kristy, Ismael, Jalen, Michael, Christian, Leandro, Azalia, Elise, Elias, Scarlett, Olivia, and Aurelia. Rosary and Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday, September 13, 2019, at the Santa Lucia Pascua Yaqui Temple in Guadalupe. Funeral Mass will begin at 7:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5445 E. Calle San Angelo. Burial to follow at Guadalupe Cemetery, 4649 S. Beck, Tempe, 85282.
