Mrs. Esther L. Hildreth, of Chestnut Street, Amsterdam, NY died peacefully surrounded by her family on April 14, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on May 12, 1945 she was the daughter of the late Maximo and Maria Victoria Oriol Carmona. In 1948 at the age of 3, Esther along with her family came to the United States and settled in Amsterdam. She was employed by Hillcrest Spring from 1974 until her retirement in 2007. Esther will be remembered for her strong work ethic and her love of her family. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Lawson Hildreth in 1975; her beloved daughter, Gina Ortiz in 1995; and her longtime companion, Thomas DelliVeneri Sr. in 1999; and her sister, Maria Cohen. She is survived by her children, Kimberly Ludwin of Arizona and Darren James DelliVeneri of Amsterdam; her siblings, Aida, Francisco, Josephine, George; eight grandchildren, Raymond Ludwin, Brittany Ludwin, Dr. Lawson Ludwin, Cheyenne Ludwin, Darren DelliVeneri Jr., Jaelynn DelliVeneri, Colton DelliVeneri, and Courtney DelliVeneri; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 2p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeffrey L’Arche M.S. officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. The number of visitors will be monitored, masks are required, and social distancing protocols will be in place.
