July 8th, 1961 - June 24th, 2019
Eufemia “La Native” Martinez, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, in Guadalupe Arizona. Eufemia was born in Guadalupe, Arizona on July 8, 1961. She is survived by her husband, Margarito M. Martinez; children, Javier Gastello, Margarito Martinez Jr., David Martinez, Daniel Martinez, Ralf Martinez, Carolyn Martinez, and Thalia Martinez; her brother Felipe Mesquite; and her nieces, Cecilia Valenzuela, Cruzita Valenzuela, Monalisa Valenzuela, Pablita Valencia. Eufemia will also be missed by her many adoring grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The Martinez family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to her treatment team, Nurses Sheryl Morrison and Sierra from the Pascua Yaqui Tribe Nurse/Health Department who continued to care for her after she was first diagnosed. A special thank you to her team of doctors and specialists who were also involved in her care. An all-night vigil will be held in Eufemia’s honor on Friday, July 5th, 2019, at 6 pm at the Santa Lucia Temple located at 5445 E. Calle San Angelo Guadalupe, Arizona 85283. A mass service will take place on the morning of Saturday, July 6th, 2019 at 7 am before Eufemia will be laid to rest at the Guadalupe Cemetery located at 4649 S. Beck Ave, Tempe, Arizona 85282. Flowers and/or other funeral donations can be given directly to the Martinez family located at 5541 E. Calle Sonora Guadalupe, AZ 85283 or by telephone at 480.450.8738
