Eva Thomas
February 16th, 1944 - June 4th, 2010
Eva Kane Thomas, age 66, of Gloversville passed away on Friday June 4, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Eva was born in Gloversville, NY on February 16, 1944 the daughter of the late Elias Kane and Myrtle Gray. She was a member of the Peoples AME Zion Church in Gloversville. Eva was also a member of the Sacandaga Elks Lodge and the Fannie Rose Temple. Eva enjoyed many hobbies, such as reading, listening to music, playing cards, going to the casino and bowling. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Eva is survived by her three children: Thomas Jones Marlene, Edward Hill Delilah, Tonia Kane Nate all of Gloversville, ten grandchildren: Shantae, Isaiah, Porsha, Malcolm, Maurice, Jazmin, Alecea, Leilani, Sharief, Adam, three brothers: Doren Gray Shirell, Chris Kane and James Brown Kathy. Additional Survivors include: three godchildren: James Robinson, Amaya Jones, Stacie Erwin as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents Eva was preceded in death by a brother James Kane, a sister Alfreda Haskins, a godchild Shauna Beekman, stepfather Sidney Gray and stepmother Jewel Kane. Friends and relatives are invited and may call on Wednesday June 9, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home; 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday June 9, 2010 at the Peoples AME Zion Church, 135 East Fulton Street, Gloversville with the Rev. Ruby J. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
