A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Valley United Methodist Church in Veneta for Eva “Jodie” Wendt of Veneta, who died Oct. 17 of complications from cancer. She was 72.Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.She was born Sept. 3, 1938, in Sapulpa, Okla., to Joseph and Velah Hemphill Elliott. She married Frank Wendt on March 13, 1960, in Reno, Nev.She graduated from Medera High School in California. She was a homemaker.Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kelly McCorkle of Veneta; a brother, Jerry Elliott of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Laverne Casterline of Eugene; and two grandsons.In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Valley United Methodist Church.
