Frank Roland Glover

Frank Roland Glover, Sr; age 91, of Gloversville, died February 22, 2012 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville. He was born in Gloversville on January 13, 1921, the son of the late George and Ursula Morgan Glover. He was a very devoted and loving husband to Pearl May Allen for 66 years. He was father to Cosette Lotz Mead, Georgiana Littrell Rollie, now deceased, Francine Glover now deceased and Frank Glover, Jr. Karen; grandfather to Veronica Barber Trevor, Rachel Nicolella, Damian Croucher Melissa, Andrew Nicolella Jennifer, Brittney and Carly Glover; great-grandfather to Alexis Barber, Jackson and Keegan Croucher, Sammy and Peyton Nicolella, Brandon and Haley Fraiser. Frank was a carpenter and welder affiliated with the New York City District Local of Carpenter's Union. After retirement he worked as a ranger at the NYS Park Campsite at Caroga Lake where he made many friends. He was an avid New York Yankee Baseball fan. He served proudly in World War II with the 3rd Division, 15th Infantry, with five invasions Africa, Italy, France, Germany and Austria. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal by the President of the United States for meritorious achievement in ground combat against an army enemy during World War II in the Middle Eastern Theater of Operations. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 24 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
