Gary Noel Butterfield

Gary Noel Butterfield, 76, of Caldwell, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at his residence. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013, 3:00PM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Caldwell, Idaho.Gary was born in Cove, Oregon on June 25, 1937 to George Weldon and Gertrude Faye Butterfield. He had three sisters join the family Gay, Gail and Gina hence the cute comment of the 6 G's. He went to school in Cove and graduated from Gem State Academy in Caldwell in 1955. He loved to cook and worked that summer at Camp Ida Haven, in McCall. He entered the Army in peace time in 1957 to 1959, Private 1st Class and served two years. He met and married Trudie Price. They added to their family two lovely daughters, Jana Marie, and Lisa Kay whom Gary always called Lisa the "K". He later met and married Jan Marey. They adopted a lovely daughter and named her Cheryl Lynn Butterfield. He later married Gail Mary Chain and raised two stepdaughters Yvonne and Lynn Chain. He was present when Yvonne had her first child and everyone thought he was the Dad. Gary loved driving trucks, all kinds, namely a few, cattle, timber, triples, doubles, and of course dry, and refer. He was driving for Rhodes Bakery and met a best bud name Phil Cook. On one occasion Gary was visiting where Phil was staying and Marianne Dorsey King came into the picture. They got married on July 24, 1987 in Caldwell, Idaho. This brought Cheryl Lynn into the picture with Marianne's children, David and Shawn King. This union lasted 26 years. They had wonderful times together. Gary left behind his wife, Marianne Butterfield, three daughters Jana, (Jim) Jacobson, Lisa Gohl, Cheryl (Rob) Ortega. Three sisters, Gay (Dwayne) Wilson, Gay (Norm) Reitz, Gina (Bobbie) Lasher. Four son-in-laws, Terry King, Todd (Beckie) King, David (Lori) King and Shawn and (Shaunna) King. Adopted Son Bruce Vinyard. 16 Grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The Family would like to thank so very much the Staff at Heart "n Home, Janet, Carrie, Liddea, Kathy, Garrett and Nan and Renee, the caregivers, Larry and Bob and everyone else who helped over the years, thank you.
