Strickland, Sr., Gary A., 56, of St. Petersburg, FL died Tuesday October 30, 2001 at home. He came here in 1981 from his native Charleston, WV. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a member of the USMC League, VFW and was active in PTSS at Bay Pines Medical Center helping other veterans. Survivors include his wife, Carol Petrie Strickland; two sons Gary A. Strickland of Spring Hill, FL and Jason Strickland of St. Petersburg, FL; one daughter Christina Strickland of St. Petersburg, FL; four sisters, Mary Anne Armentrout, Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Sarah Thompson of Seminole, FL, Thelma Hedrick and Betty Settles both of Rand, WV; one brother, Greg Strickland, Melbourne, FL; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Contributions may be made to the Marine Corp League, P. O. Box 3070, Merrifield, VA 22116.
