Forever for always and no matter what Georgette Saleeby left this earth on January 19, 2017 to move to her permanent home in Heaven to join her husband, Sam at the invitation of her Savior Jesus Christ. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2350 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC followed by entombment services in the mausoleum chapel at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC. Recital of the rosary followed by visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC. Born on August 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Razouk and Amelia Chaffoo. Georgette was loved by family and friends, an exquisitely beautiful lady, with a ready smile and an extremely generous and loving heart. She was the true matriarch of her family who through tireless effort, insightful wisdom and her legendary fine cooking, fostered an exceptional closeness and bond between her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in laws, nieces and nephews that will endure for many generations. She was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church for 64 years and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Surviving is her son, L. Ronald Saleeby of West Columbia; son, Alan G (Angie) Saleeby of Lexington; daughter, Vivian S. (Robert, deceased) Knuckley; grandchildren, Michelle G. Knuckley, Bryan A (Erica) Knuckley, Stephanie S. (Chuck) DiMarco, Angela (Dwayne) Waters, Samuel G. Saleeby, Joseph R. Knuckley, Ronald (Mary) Saleeby and Gabriel Saleeby; great-grandchildren, Charles DiMarco, Deacon DiMarco, Brandon R. Knuckley, Emma Waters, Sarah Waters and Rory Saleeby. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Sam G. Saleeby. Pallbearers will be, Bryan Knuckley, Sammy Saleeby, Joseph Knuckley, Ronald Saleeby, Chuck DiMarco and McKenzie Hames. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Harvest Hope Food Bank, 2220, Shop Road, Columbia, SC 29201.
